Matthieu Gain's studies began in 1994 with film music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Once he successfully obtained this diploma, he worked in this field as a composer and orchestrator. Many scores have been created for feature-length cinema or television films, series, documentaries, advertisements, short films, etc.
Photography had been there since his childhood. Encouraged by his parents, both professional photographers, he started practicing from a very young age, starting by using a small plastic camera, then replacing it with others, little by little, until the last one, his Nikon. Z8, which he greatly appreciates!
Little by little, his career as a photographer emerged without warning. In the end, she ended up taking first place. His American origins pushed him, in 2014, to explore this country, armed with his camera and a microphone, with the aim of recording the rare but profound truths of this country, visually and acoustically. In addition to making numerous recordings and shots in cities (Boston, MA, New York, NY, Washington, MA and Portland, OR), he developed the technique of panoramic (combining several neighboring shots to create a image from very wide angle and high resolution).
On his return the same year, he began photographing objects (clothing, furniture, etc.), artists (works, performances, exhibitions, etc.), musicians (concerts, promotions, etc.), places (restaurants, bars, etc.), as well as families (children, parents, family reunions, etc.), a multitude of photos which were requested from him in France. He then created mgh studio, an individual business (www.mgh-studio.com), which allowed him to finally establish himself as a photographer and simplify his investments and invoicing.The last ten years of experience have confirmed this passion and offered him, both on a material and intellectual level, everything that photography requires: equipment, technique and passion.
