YANNICK PIERLOZ

Born in 1981, of Belgian nationality, Yannick Pierloz comes from the “three borders” region (Belgium, France and Luxembourg). He traveled a lot during his youth. First in Europe, and later in Africa and North America. The trips he made sharpened his sense of observation and allowed him to better see in his environment what most people look at, but do not perceive, that is to say the glance of the artist to whom he was made aware by his grandfather, who was a professional photographer. With the latter, Yannick had the opportunity to acquire knowledge in film photography.

After his studies, he took a solo trip which had a great influence on his life. Having gone to the other end of the planet for a few years, he discovered Australia, New Zealand and French Polynesia (Tahiti). During this trip, he developed a passion for photography and decided to transform his hobby into a profession.

So, after this trip, Yannick worked for a decade in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in a company specializing in digital marketing, and more particularly in product photography. His task was to create, publish and manage visual data in order to produce visual content on e-commerce platforms.

After gaining experience in the field of advertising photos, Yannick became interested in drone photography. 4 years ago, he took drone piloting courses in a training center in Luxembourg. There he obtained the certifications which allow him to practice drone flying, whether in the city or outdoors, indoors or outdoors, day or night.

At the end of this training, Yannick decided to settle in Reunion Island to found his own company to develop photography services using drones.

In a context such as that of the Reunion Island, where access is often difficult, the drone constitutes an extremely useful tool.

Yannick is convinced of the immense potential that drones can bring to our daily lives. The drone can be employed in various fields due to its ability to accomplish tasks quickly, efficiently and often at a lower cost. It is also possible to use these tools to evaluate infrastructure such as power lines, pipelines and wind turbines, often located in difficult to operate locations.

The drone can also be used in other sectors such as:

• To capture spectacular aerial images and videos during events, real estate projects, or films.
• In construction projects, drones can inspect construction sites, check work progress, and monitor site safety.
• Drones are useful for monitoring animal or plant species, studying natural habitats, assessing the impacts of natural disasters, and even fighting poaching.
• Journalists can use drones to obtain aerial footage during major events or to cover hard-to-access stories.
