Photographer and author, Claire GILLET has always been interested in the medium of photography. She always found it intriguing because for her, photographing is not just about pressing a button. Managing to “capture” sometimes intimate moments of life, grasping what is indescribable about our bonds, fixing this moment.
To keep it in mind, all this is a challenge. Photography bears witness to a fact, a cause, but never captures a truth.
It constantly measures itself against critical eyes without ever discarding what it involves, its figurative scope.
Photography constantly questioned her about her own limits. How far can this photographer go when photographing? What are the limits of the subjects discussed, of the people photographed, what do they really want to show, what do they want to hide…
For her, it is also a question of transmission. Like these old photographs that we sometimes find waiting for a potential buyer on the floor of a flea market. These eyes which look at the lens or perhaps at the photographer, what do they really have to tell us, to transmit to us?
Claire GILLET has always found it fascinating to observe the position taken by both photographers and their models.
What do we really have the right to show, tell or interpret based on our own experiences and those of our ancestors? What do we really carry through the ages, from ourselves as well as from those who preceded us?
After a few journeys in Africa, India and Europe Claire always asks herself the same questions... And she continues her journey as a photographer by adapting to the people she meets with humility, listening and kindness.
She offers different services: business photography, corporate photography, artistic photography such as show photography, but also photographic workshops to further share this passion and pass it on.
Claire GILLET also offers the rental of a tailor-made photobooth with a vintage look for businesses and individuals.
